Atlantic County Special Services is a public county-based school that provides programs and related services for students with disabilities ages 3-21. The programs include autism, behavioral disabilities, multiple disabilities, preschool disabilities, severe cognitive, and transitional living skills. The school employs a full child study team, a board certified behavior analyst (B.C.B.A.), and related service providers.
The mission of the Atlantic County Special Services School District is to provide innovative educational programs and related services for students with special needs ages 3 to 21 who meet eligibility requirements. This will be accomplished by offering specialized, individualized instruction aligned with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards to meet academic, vocational, functional, physical and emotional student needs. Essential programs will be developed in collaboration with educational and human services agencies by planning, coordinating, assisting and/or implementing countywide programs as appropriate.
